Do you know those way too overpriced wellness shots available at most juiceries and healthy restaurants? You can make them at home for maybe a quarter of what you pay for them in those shops.

I think we all know that ginger and turmeric have gained their superfood status a while ago, they both have very powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties and they’re simply really good for you. While these shots won’t guarantee you any super powers, they will surely add a little boost to your immune system. If anything else, taking this shot is a nice thing to add to your morning routine.

INGREDIENTS (makes 5-7 shots)

  • the juice of 3 lemons (about 100 ml)
  • 50 grams of fresh ginger (2-3 inch knob of ginger)
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

The black pepper and olive oil are meant to fully activate the turmeric for a better absorption in our body!

INSTRUCTIONS

Simply add the lemon juice, peeled ginger, turmeric, olive oil and pepper into the blender and blend for 3-5 minutes, or until smooth. You can strain the mixture or you can leave it just like that, this will be up to you. If you want to make the taste more bearable, feel free to add some honey to the mixture.

Store the ginger shots into a jar, and keep them in the fridge for up to a week.

Here’s a video of the entire process:
