If you’re on the fence about making homemade jam, it’s definitely worth it. Homemade jam tends to be so much more complex in flavor and texture than the store-bought stuff, you can control the level of sweetness, tartness, spice and so much more. Not to mention, they’re so much cheaper to make at home.

Today’s recipe is a silky jam blend between tart strawberries with a hint of rich and floral rose. I love serving this recipe with freshly baked bread.

How do I make rose water?
Can I make it from the rose buds I have in my garden?

      Hi Natalie,
Wild roses are like mushrooms, some are safe for consumption and some aren’t. I recommend adding store bought rose water instead which are 100% food safe.

      Best,
      Carolina

      Hi Judy,
I left the roses out of the final recipe because after testing it, I discovered the roses didn’t add much flavor to the jam. I recommend adding store bought rose water instead. It is much more pungent and flavorful.

      Best,
      Carolina

Can the cane sugar be substituted for coconut sugar?
